This master matrix applies across all outerwear pieces in our catalog. Every measurement is taken with the garment laid completely flat, seam to seam, ensuring accurate sizing when compared against your existing outerwear.

Standard flat garment measurements across Leather Haven Craft and all heritage houses.
Tailoring & Extended Sizing: Standard sizing spans XS through 2XL at catalog base price. Sizes 3XL through 6XL are handcrafted with dedicated extra hide panels and pattern grading, incurring an artisan surcharge of +$20.
How to Find the Right Size
Follow our atelier guidelines for an exact fit.
- 1Garment Laid FlatThe measurements are taken on the garment laid flat from seam to seam, not on the body.
- 2Chest (Pit to Pit)The chest is measured across the garment from pit to pit, laid flat. (Not the circumference).
- 3Sleeve LengthThe sleeve is measured from where the raglan/shoulder sleeve meets the collar to the end of the cuff.
- 4Body LengthThe body length is measured from the highest point where the body meets the collar, to the base of the garment.
- 5Compare with Your WardrobeIf in doubt, find a coat in your wardrobe to compare measurements. If you are between sizes, think about whether you prefer a neat, closer fit or a more relaxed fit.

The Philosophy of Leather Fit & Break-in
Genuine full-grain cowhide, steerhide, and horsehide are dense, natural materials that gently yield to body heat and movement. After 20 to 30 hours of continuous wear, high-grade leather relaxes at pressure points across the shoulders, chest, and elbows, conforming specifically to your physique.
If you intend to wear your jacket over thick Scottish lambswool sweaters or hoodies, select the larger size when your chest measurement falls between intervals. If you prefer the authentic 1950s café racer or flight profile, choose your exact flat chest measurement.
